WPL 2024 Schedule Revealed: The complete schedule for the second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2024 is now out. In this upcoming tournament, five teams will compete for the ultimate glory in women’s franchise cricket.
The participating teams are Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Giants. Last year, Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, secured the first-ever WPL Championship by defeating Delhi Capitals, led by Meg Lanning, by seven wickets in the final.
Similar to the previous season, the 2024 tournament will witness all five teams facing each other twice. The team that finishes first in the league phase will directly qualify for the final, while the teams in second and third place will play an eliminator, and the winner will secure the second spot in the final.
The WPL 2024 will commence with a rematch of last season’s final, as Mumbai Indians face Delhi Capitals on Friday, February 23rd, at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The first 11 matches of the tournament will be played in Bengaluru, with the remaining nine league matches, along with the eliminator and the final, scheduled to take place at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
