Kohli is regarded as a right-handed top-order batsman and consider as one of the best batsmen in the world. He takes part in Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 and raised in Delhi into a Punjabi family. Prem Kohli is his father who worked as a criminal lawyer and his mother, Saroj Kohli, is a housewife. He has two sibling:- one older brother, Vikash, and an older sister, Bhavna.
When he was three-years old, he would begin plying cricket. He started swinging the bat and asked his father to bowl at him. He led India Under-19s to victory at the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia. A few months later he began his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka at the age of 19. As a reserve batsman in the Indian team, he soon is recognized himself as a regular in the ODI middle-order. Luckily he became the part of the squad that won the 2011 World Cup. He made his Test debut in 2011 and quickly attracted the cricket specialist.Then he shrugged off the tag of “ODI specialist” by 2013 with Test hundreds in Australia and South Africa. In 2013 for the first time, he played as the top order batsman in the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen. Kohli achieved success in the Twenty20 format, winning the Man of the Tournament twice at the ICC World Twenty20 (in 2014 and 2016). In 2014, he made the top-ranked T20I batsman in the ICC rankings. He was holding the position for three successive years until 2017. Since October 2017, he has become the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world.
