Why Ranji Trophy 2024-25 is Special?

The Ranji Trophy Elite 2024-25 is set to offer intense competition between domestic powerhouses and talented players. Every year, several young cricketers emerge from this tournament and go on to represent Team India in Test cricket.

This season will also provide a platform for senior players like Ajinkya Rahane, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari, and Wriddhiman Saha to regain their form and push their case for a national team comeback. Additionally, promising youngsters like Tilak Varma, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Yash Dhull will look to make a strong statement to selectors.

    What’s at Stake?

The ultimate glory in the Ranji Trophy is winning the coveted First-Class title. The team that emerges victorious will not only lift the prestigious Ranji Trophy but also strengthen its players’ chances of getting picked for India’s Test cricket team.

The BCCI has scheduled the tournament in such a way that it does not clash with major international cricket, ensuring all eyes remain on domestic cricket.

When Will Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Start?

The Ranji Trophy Elite 2024-25 is scheduled to kick off on January 5, 2025, and will continue till March 2025. The format will include:

    • Round-Robin Matches
    • Quarterfinals
    • Semi-Finals
    • Grand Finale

The winner of the Ranji Trophy Elite 2024-25 will not only gain glory but also automatic qualification for the prestigious Irani Trophy to be played later in the year.
