Other Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant played in the last round of matches on January 23. However, Kohli was absent from Delhi’s previous game due to a neck issue.

Last week, Kohli confirmed his availability for Delhi’s final league match against Railways, scheduled to take place from January 30 to February 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Kohli’s Last Ranji Trophy Appearance

The last time Kohli played in the Ranji Trophy was in 2012, when Delhi faced Uttar Pradesh under Virender Sehwag’s captaincy. In that match, he scored 14 and 43, but Delhi ended up losing.

Now, at 36, Kohli is set to return to domestic cricket after more than a decade. This move aligns with the BCCI’s new rule that mandates centrally contracted players to participate in domestic cricket whenever available.

Initially, the Delhi vs Railways match was not selected for live broadcast. Instead, the scheduled televised games were Karnataka vs Haryana, Bengal vs Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir vs Baroda. However, once Kohli confirmed his participation, the broadcasters made adjustments to include the match in their live coverage.

How to Watch Virat Kohli’s Ranji Trophy Match?

Fans can watch the Delhi vs Railways Ranji Trophy match live on the Jio Cinema app and website. The match starts at 9:30 AM IST on January 30.

Recently, Kohli trained with former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar at Reliance’s cricket facility in Alibaug. After struggling in Australia, where he was dismissed eight times edging deliveries behind the stumps, Kohli sought Bangar’s guidance.

Under Bangar’s tenure as India’s batting coach, Kohli was at his peak between 2015 and 2019. In practice videos from Alibaug, he was seen focusing on his backfoot play.

Kohli’s Upcoming Matches

While Kohli managed a century in Perth, he scored only 190 runs across five Tests and was dismissed eight times to balls outside the off-stump.

India’s next Test series is in June in England. Before that, Kohli will shift focus to his strongest format, ODI cricket. India will host England for a three-match ODI series from February 6, followed by the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
